I thought I would try these out and what a mistake. I rated at a 2 only because the fish would hit on them but neither of the 2 of us could hook a fish with them, Needs a bigger hook so that the propeller isn't in the way of the hook set.

I was so excited to see that you finally are producing 1oz whistler jigs again! They have been u available in the Pacific Northwest for years. The paint scheme and quality of the paint job is superb! The issue that will keep me from buying any more of these jigs is this, the hooks are way to small for the diameter of the body. The website lists the hook size as a 6/0. These jigs have a 3/0 hook at the very largest. If a person did not run a stinger hook with this jig I can assure you that your hookup rate would be dismal. I don't know if these jigs are being outsourced to China but no standard size 6/0 hook is this small. Please contact me if you have questions or can provided answers to my questions. Thank you, Solomon

  • Great for smallmouth. Norther WI, Green whistler w/3" minnow. First week of June, bass were coming on towards spawn, 4-6' sandy/rocky bottom. Breezy day so put float on rig w/4' Vanish and drifted it through target area.

All smallmouths thrown back as season did not open until 6/15.
