  • A specially designed Barb-Wire® bait-holding collar securely holds live bait & soft plastic trailers on hook

A proven producer of crappies, perch, walleyes, bass and trout. Tip with live bait and soft-plastic trailers. It’s time to resupply the jigs for my annual fishing trip to Ontario, Canada. I have found these jigs to be high quality. The hooks themselves allow me to use various sorts of grubs, etc... on the jig to a great deal of success. The hooks are also high quality and never break off. I have used quite a few variety of jigs but these with the spinner set up are my go to jig.

  • Could be a great bait!

The Northland Thumper jigs would be great out of the package if they came with #2 or #3 willow leaf blades attached to a ball bearing swivel. The hooks are decent and get the job done but a strong light wire black nickel hook option would be awesome. Nonetheless I still buy these and modify them to my preference. I remove the little colorado blade and attach a ball bearing swivel then from there it gets terminated to a #2 hammered willow leaf blade for the 1/8oz and a #3 hammered willow leaf blade for the 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz sizes. This has proven to be a deadly underspin on the largemouth bass in my local lake.
