A proven producer of crappies, perch, walleyes, bass and trout. Tip with live bait and soft-plastic trailers. • Could be a great bait!

The Northland Thumper jigs would be great out of the package if they came with #2 or #3 willow leaf blades attached to a ball bearing swivel. The hooks are decent and get the job done but a strong light wire black nickel hook option would be awesome. Nonetheless I still buy these and modify them to my preference. I remove the little colorado blade and attach a ball bearing swivel then from there it gets terminated to a #2 hammered willow leaf blade for the 1/8oz and a #3 hammered willow leaf blade for the 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz sizes. This has proven to be a deadly underspin on the largemouth bass in my local lake.

The Thumper is a quality jig that is not only built well but catches fish. I love the keeper barb which works well for adding a plastic trailer or piece of night crawler.

I've used the Thumper jig with plenty of success over the last several years. It's caught everything from perch and crappie to walleyes and pike. The blade is a great attractor especially when paired with an Impulse plastic. You can't go wrong having some of these in your tackle box.
