• Features a sleek “wedge-head” design & totally weedless plastic “Y” guard
• Rig with minnow, crawler, leech, plastic worm or grub

A perennial favorite for bass, pike, walleyes and crappies in heavy cover. Tip with live bait or soft plastics and swim, jig, drag or dip in the thickest reeds, cabbage, coontail, brush and standing timber. For best results targeting fish holding near bottom in extremely thick cover, drop the Weed-Weasel straight down and vertically jig it in the strike zone.

Walleyes love cabbage, coontail, reeds and other vegetation. So, when its time to work the weed beds, my #1 jig selection is the Northland Weed Weasel. The head design is hydro-dynamic, slim, weight forward; coupled with a wide gap hook. However, the leading feature of the Weed Weasel is the plastic "Y" guard. The guard is sturdy enough to deflect the toughest of weeds in the thickest cover; allowing the bait to get in front of your target. I've fished the Northland Weed Weasel for years! So, when its time to "run for the jungle," don't go in without an assortment of Northland Fishing Tackle Weed Weasels; your "best option" for dense vegetation "weedless" jig presentations!

I have used these jigs in areas where you can loose a regular jig every other Cast. They are very productive for walleye once I figured out that you need to trim back the weed guards so you could hook fish. The first six bites I got I could not hook the fish. After trimming the weed guards they were still weedless and I caught fish. This is the only jig I use in this area of the lake now.

This jig is so weedless I had to trim the nylon guards back so I could set the hook in a fish. The first 6 bites I got I could not get the hook in the fish. I trimmed off approx. 1/4" and the jig still was weedless and I was able to catch fish. I used this jig on waleyes last summer and they work great when other jigs were hung up constantly.
